Four doctoral students of “Nicolae Testemitanu” University won merit scholarships from the government

Four doctoral students at the Doctoral School in Health Sciences of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy will receive merit scholarships from the state. The list of all beneficiaries was approved during the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Moldova on February 22.
Thus, three young researchers of the Doctoral School in the field of Health Sciences within Nicolae Testemitanu University were awarded Excellence Scholarships from the executive:
Aurelia Ababii – third year, Hygiene specialty;
Mariana Jian – second year, specialty Tissue Engineering and Cell Cultures;
Iulia Coliban – fourth year, Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics specialty.
At the same time, Diana Rotaru-Cojocari, doctoral student in the third year, specializing in Pediatrics and Neonatology, is the holder of the Scholarship in Scientific Fields.
The Government Excellence Scholarship and the Scholarship in Scientific Fields are awarded annually, starting from the second year of studies, to doctoral students enrolled in full-time and part-time studies, who have completed the advanced training program, the scientific research program established by the doctoral supervisor, have accumulated the number of credits provided for in the Educational Plan of the Doctoral School, have achieved excellent academic results and actively participate in the social life of the institution.
In total, 25 doctoral students from six institutions organizing higher doctoral studies will receive scholarships from the state. Among them, 21 will benefit from the Government Excellence Scholarship in the amount of 3,000 lei, and four will receive the Scholarship in scientific fields worth 2,500 lei. The candidates have attached to the file the scientific studies carried out in different fields of science and technology, being appreciated for their outstanding performance in research-development and innovation.
The scholarship contest for doctoral students is part of the government program to support young researchers. By awarding these scholarships, the executive aims to streamline the process of training scientific staff through doctorates and to motivate the inclusion of young people in the research and innovation activity.
It should be mentioned that the Doctoral School in the field of Health Sciences is the entity responsible for organizing higher doctoral studies, cycle III, based on GD no. 816 of November 11, 2015, within the Consortium formed between Nicolae Testemitanu University and the doctoral organizing institutions in the medical field: National Public Health Center, Mother and Child Institute, Diomid Gherman Neurology and Neurosurgery Institute, Cardiology Institute, Chiril Draganiuc Phthisiopneumology Institute, the Oncological Institute, the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital, the Institute of Physiology and Sanocreatology, and the Institute of Emergency Medicine.
